Rate rules in YesBookit have evolved over time to allow great complexity and many different options exist to deal with pricing based on both the length of stay and particular  days of the week.

While these complex rules may work on your own website they are not supported by most channels that you may wish to feed to, for example HomeAway, Booking.com, Airbnb and Expedia.

If you want to distribute your listings to other channels you may wish to review your existing rates and plan to move towards simple rates that are based on a nightly rate, with an enforced minimum price and optionally a discounted longer stay.

The information below highlights current rules which don't translate to other channels  and gives some suggestions as how to change or remove these variations.

1. Block Cleaning

Description
A fee attached to the booking based on a configurable number of nights in blocks. This is separate to set fees per stay. For example, cleaning fee where every 7 days, $50 is added to a booking, and even 1 day over adds $50.

How to rectify
Change to a per-stay cleaning fee

2. Optional Weekly pro-rata
Description

Uses the Optional Weekly field to define the 7 night price, plus the drop down to define Nightly as the pro-rata method

How to rectify
Clients who use Optional Weekly to define the 7 night price need to use the Weekly/7 pro-rata option.

3. Block
Description

Price is affected by fixed day blocks, eg 7 day blocks, and you book 9 days, it's the same as booking 14 days.

How to rectify
Enforce pricing by Minimum Bookable Days plus forced arrival/departure days of week

4. Blocks pro-rata
Description

Forcing an initial price for a block of nights and after that block is reached, the rate defaults to the nightly rate until the block is met again.

How to rectify
Enforce the initial minimum price with Minimum Bookable Days.

5. Formulas
Description

Formulas are set under Options > Settings > Tariffs and then the corresponding Formula number is selected at the property seasonal rule level.

How to rectify
Use seasonal or property rate rules.

6. Length of Stay (LOS)
Description

Where rules define different nightly rates for different lengths of stay

How to rectify
Remove multiple Length of Stay (LOS) rules, increase nightly rate to cover less than 7 nights, and if required use one rule to enforce a minimum price.

7. Days of Week
Description

Where inclusion of a specific day of the week triggers a specific rate for that night, OR a combination of number of days plus arrival day of week changes the rate.

How to rectify
Currently YesBookit is investigating the best solution for Days of Week rules.
One option is to include a higher rate for any 2 night stay.
