Cancelling bookings that have come via Rentals United

  1. If a booking that has come from Rentals United needs to be cancelled or changed, DO NOT cancel or change it in YesBookit until it has been cancelled on the booking site it came from.

  2. The booking MUST be cancelled or changed on the site where it was made, for example, Booking.com or Airbnb.

  3. You will receive a notification from the channel when this has occurred.

  4. Once the booking is cancelled in Rentals United, you need to manually cancel the booking in YesBookit.

  5. If the booking has been moved or changed on the booking site, Rentals United will push through a new booking to reflect that change. Normally all that is required in YesBookit is to simply cancel the original booking which will leave you with the new booking.

  6. If for some reason you are unable to get the booking cancelled on the site it came from, you MUST leave those dates blocked in YesBookit, either with the original booking or with a Rental booking to just block those dates.

  7. In case you haven’t been following this process to date, we’d urge you to go to Tools > Channel Management > Manage Rentals United > View Logs to see if you have any distribution failures

If you do, click on the wording Property distribution failed to see the error message underneath. If the wording is similar to this:

It means YesBookit can no longer update availability to Rentals United because there is a booking that you have cancelled or changed in YesBookit and not on the booking site.

To resolve this you need to find the booking in Rentals United across the dates in the error message as it will still be a confirmed booking there.

You then need to have it cancelled on the site it came from which will cancel it in Rentals United and allow the calendars to sync again.
